Mackenzie Carmen is an Associate at Buckley Law in the Probate and Trust Litigation and Family Law practice groups. Mackenzie represents clients in all types of family law cases. Her litigation practice focuses on contested guardianships and conservatorships, minor guardianship proceedings, restraining orders, probate and trust litigation, administrative law related to child and elder abuse investigations, and civil actions for abuse to elderly people and people with disabilities. As part of the family law team, Mackenzie handles complex family law matters including divorce, custody disputes, modification issues, and restraining and protective orders. Mackenzie was previously an attorney at the Metropolitan Public Defender and has several years of law experience as a legal intern and paralegal. She also helped coach high school mock trial where she discovered her passion for the law. Mackenzie has a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School and a bachelor’s degree from American University, Washington D.C. While at Lewis & Clark she was the Vice President of Lewis & Clark’s Youth Justice club. In her free time Mackenzie loves spending time with her Redtick Coonhound Annie and cat Snickers.
